My name is Lucy, I was born in Reading in 2004. My first experiences as an artist was when I went to primary school, I was always drawing
in my books and not paying attention because of it. I continued this habit of drawing in books even through secondary school,
I would sit alone at breaks drawing anything I could think of. It was here that I realized that I wanted to pursue my career in art.
I went on to study Art and design in secondary school. When I finished secondary school I moved on to College,
this is where I am now, in my last year of college doing BTEC L3 Art & design. Along side secondary school and college, I was
discovering a passion for digital art. I got my first digital tablet when I was 15, I got given a Wacom tablet. After years of drawing on
a tablet, I moved on to a digital screen tablet. This changed my art a lot. I rediscovered a passion I thought I lost while using
a Wacom tablet. I now use a 4th Gen iPad with a iPencil. This is where my digital art really took off, every day I would pick up
my iPad and draw.
I work primarily in [insert mediums] and I currently work from [insert location] and [any other locations of interest].“
My art is digital based, over the years I have built up my own art style whilst using digital software as Photoshop (to draw) and Procreate
(a digital drawing software built for iPads). My style is stylised portraits with a contrast of hard and soft shadows. My signature on my
artwork is always adding really shiny metal jewellery. As a style choice I have chosen to only draw with black and white tones. This over
time became my style, as I used to colour my pieces with gradient mapping before. I have built my own style through posting on
Instagram and drawing from images I love from Pinterest. This overtime developed into a style.
Through my art journey I have used Instagram to create a community of people that also do digital art and traditional.
I have gained over 300 followers in a year through posting my artwork and building connections with other artists that have
similar interests. Threw this we comment and share each other’s artwork to help grow each other’s art accounts.
